Uranium in Air

Conclusion – Fukushima really blew up, launching TONS of Uranium and Plutonium into the atmosphere.

HERE is all the supporting information

My max estimate is 195 TONS of Uranium, and it may certainly be less based on assumptions made, but the bottom line is that a huge amount of Uranium was exploded and aerosolized.

The quantity of tons aerosolized can be estimated by using official Government data, in particular Exhibit F-1 which is a 4/5/2011 publication of the EPA Radnet.    Their website is very complicated to navigate, and I can no longer find this PDF file on  their website, I have archived a copy to my computer.

Exh F-1 Shows 130 aCi/M3 of URANIUM in air, in Honolulu, with similar amount in Kauai, and even more in Guam.

The “Background” amount of Uranium in Air in Honolulu is around 5 aCi/M3,  thus making the measured Uranium 2600% higher than Background  .   See Table 9 from the EPA for this data.

Using a dispersion simulator, printout attached as Exh G-1, and with help of Google Earth (Exhibit G2 and G3) I calculate an affected area, which is about 2800 miles by 4900 miles.
Here is the simulator.

Now to make an estimate of affected volume of air, we need to select a height, I selected 8 miles.
The meat of the calculations are on Exhibit C-1, which is the next page

195 Tons Of Uranium!
Lets do a sensitivity analysis on the assumptions.   What if the affected area is 50% of the size the simulator shows, then use a multiplier of 0.5.

What if the height of the affected air is only more like 2 miles instead of 8, uses a multiplier of 0.25
195 tons *.5*.25= 24 Tons (Conservative Estimate)

Under the Conservative Estimate, and using .89% Plutonium per Table 1, this would be 433 pounds of Plutonium aerosolized.

Truth is not the friend of Nuke,
No wonder this stuff has to be covered up.

Backup and Calcs here!

I like your "take" on it!

It is one reason that increasingly in the Diet we are talking de facto nationalization of the company. Nuclear energy shouldn't be in the hands of the yakuza. They're gamblers and an intelligent person doesn't want them to have atomic dice to play with."

HOW can the Japanese GOVERNMENT allow their yakuza access to nuclear materials when the World threatens other ROGUE groups that seek nuclear materials!

Who is keeping tract of every GRAM of nuclear materials in Japan, how much is being stolen and or sold to other groups or Countries?

This is a VERY IMPORTANT issue that has not been addressed in MSM:

Where have ALL THE HIGHLY RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS GONE?

  2. Great job!
Hey CaptD, I think the Yakuza are doing something with these materials. More horrifying, why in the hell isn't our Gov doing anything about it?
SOMETHING SMELLS VERY VERY FISHY with the whole thing.

  4. Good calculations, but to hook Joesixpak I think you need info on three levels-basic, at the header, showing the tons of U and Pu, then -intermediate-the calculation then advanced-the source files.

I have noticed Joesixpaks eyes glaze over using bequerels or cpms, need to start simple

  5. David T, good idea, just don't have the time right now.

good idea though...number 3 blowing up with list of tonnage

    thanks for stopping in

    Hey Stock!

Almost everyone in Hawaii knows someone in California, so please spread the word and/or write a blog on the California ballot initiative to shut down California's nuclear power plants!

California's San Onofre nuclear power plant has the worst safety record of all 104 npp's in the U.S.! And California sits on both earthquake and tsunami zones!

Seismologists agree that California will have a devastating earthquake in the future!

And as the jet stream blows east, every state in the U.S. is downwind of California!

This may be the only time the PEOPLE have a chance to shut down the deeply entrenched nuclear industry.

Please pass along these links on the initiative:

    Thank you!

  12. Great point CaptD. Furthermore, with the confusion surrounding idled nuke plants and multiple melt throughs and fuel pool explosions in Japan, no one can be sure where all the fuel is. Nuclear inspectors were the first to run away from the site and no one wants to risk their life looking for fuel that may or may not still be on site. Surely it would be easy to steal nuclear fuel and associated materials. No one would have the faintest clue what is missing, misplaced, blown up, or stolen.

The Yakusa must be having a field day selling off nuclear materials from Fukushima now. No one would have a clue what fuel is missing, blown up, melted down, or simply "lost".

The ramifications of Fukushima just got bigger.   :-(

  13. try 500 meters as your max height. See what comes out. Check against dose rate numbers at plant perimeter...

  14. Frankly, with all the nuke fuel expoded out of the reactors (note I say reactors)..no need to find and sell nuclear materials..we are all, globally, radiated as if there was an atomic or nuclear bomb going off in our locations. Just will take some time to show up..a year or so. But seriously am sure some secret efforts by Nuke Mafia was involved with processing banned fuels/bomb grade materials in the plants. Only reason for the neurotic coverup of the entire situation..they are trying to buy time for disposal of the evidence..burning on site in a huge funeral pyre near Reactor 4 it looks like..or dumping into the ocean.

  15. I really wouldn't trust dose rates at perimeter, as supplied by TEPCO or Japan Gov.   Just saying.    Why 500 meters?   did you measure on video?
